ECSOC-1 will cover conventional aspects (Section A) and new technologies (Section B) of synthesis of organic compounds including organometallics and inorganic complexes of novel organic ligands, and cover mainly experimental works. The important topic of biosynthesis (Section C) and natural product chemistry (Section D) will be organized as separate symposiums. Section E is structural characterization and applications of organic, organometalic compounds and inorganic coordinated compounds of organic ligands. Section F is the related information management and compound archives management and related theoretical works.
Each subject area has a section convener who will screen titles, papers (resaerch notes, short communications and abstracts of full articles and review papers) sent by authors for suitability. Authors can opt to submit a non-permanent presentation like a normal conference poster. The final version of research communications, research notes, full papers and review articles of all the posters will be peer-refereed and if accepted, will be published in the ECSOC Proceedings in two editions (online and CD-ROM).
The conference presentations should be preferably prepared in HTML format. HTML files should be supplied directly by the participants (For technical details, visit: http://www.mdpi.org/htmlguid.htm. Samples posters are available). Otherwise, organizers of ECSOC-1 will transfer word processor files (preferably saved as Microsoft Word file or most preferably in RTF format) submitted by the participants to HTML files.
All the papers will be postered on this Web site during September 1-30, 1997. During the conference, comments, questions and answers will be posted in HTML format at a web-site for a particular section. Suitable comments and questions of the participants and the answers may be incorporated by the authors into the final, corrected and modified version of the papers for publication and cited as notes or personal communications.
There is no registration fee for the conference. To register, and to subscribe to
the ECSOC-1 mailing list, send by e-mail a one-line message:
Archives of the message sent to the participants can be found at listserv.arizona.edu/lsv/www/ecsoc.html.
In addition, ECSOC-1 participants may subscribe to the ECSOC Proceedings at a special rate.
Give your complete name, surface mail and e-mail addresses, fax and phone
numbers, in your first contact as well as in all your further correspondence.
Announcements will be sent regularly
to the ECSOC-1 mailing list ECSOC@listserv.arizona.edu
Send Papers for Consideration
Papers (research notes or short communications and abstracts of full papers, or reviews) for presentation should be sent by e-mail or by fax or
surface mail one copy directly to the appropriate section convener listed below
before July 15, 1997.
Accepted Papers for Presentation
This time we will present all papers as posters.
For those chemists who are familiar with the internet, prepare your
papers as homepages (one page for one paper) in your personal website
and tell the organizer by e-mail (ecsoc-1@mdpi.org) the URL addresses.
The organizer will download them and put them at the conference
homepage for presentation, before August 15, 1997.
Participants who are unable to prepare their accepted papers in HTML format
may send word processor files (Please insert all figures into the text and prepare
one paper as ONE file only) on diskette together
with one hard copy by surface mail, also before August 15, 1997, to: Dr. Shu-Kun Lin,
ECSOC-1, MDPI, Saengergasse 25, CH-4054 Basel, Switzerland. The organizers will
convert them into HTML files.
Proceedings Publication
All the papers (research notes or communications, full papers, or reviews) presented at the ECSOC-1 in HTML format will be published in the ECSOC-1 Proceedings (ISBN 3-906980-00-6) in two editions (online and print).
Paper refereeing will be conducted during the conference and afterwards. Referees will be appointed by the section conveners. Referee
reports will be sent to the authors via e-mail or fax.
Additions and corrections should be sent via e-mail before November 1, 1997 to
Dr. Shu-Kun Lin, Molecules/MDPI, Saengergasse 25, CH-4054
Basel, Switzerland; Phone +41 79 322 3379; Fax +41 61 302 8918; E-mail: ecsoc-1@mdpi.org,
or one of the section conveners.
Questions related to a particular section and the papers should be forwarded via
e-mail to section conveners.
All other e-mails (such as registration, maillist, and
HTML and PDF queries) should be sent to the conference convener at
ecsoc-1@mdpi.org.
